LAURENCE V. HICKS, DO, DC, ND
Family Practice, Pain Management, Occupational Medicine

Dr. Hicks graduated from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994. He completed his family medicine residency at Millcreek Community Hospital and served as medical resident for the VA Medical Center in Erie, PA. He served as chief resident during his Family Medicine residency. Dr. Hicks is board certified in Family Practice, Occupational Medicine and Pain Management.

For over 40 years, Dr. Hicks has been a full-time practicing physician with experience in family practice, pain management, occupational medicine and emergency medicine. He serves as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at ICOM and has served in many other academic positions as well for the University of Western States, Maryville University College of Health Professions, Walden University, Samford University and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Hicks has a uncommon interest in furthering his education and has completed numerous degrees including Doctor of Chiropractic, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and Doctor of Acupuncture.

GEOFFREY N. HICKS, NP-C
Family Practice, Pain Management

Dr. Geoffrey Hicks obtained his RN from the College of Southern Idaho and then an advanced nursing degree in family practice from Samford University in 2017. He has since obtained his Doctor of Nursing from California University FCE. He has practiced in the Magic Valley since 2014. Geoff has interest in Pain Management and is completing a post-graduate training course toward Pain Management certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has completed Medication Assisted Treatment training to get his MAT waiver with regards to opiate addiction treatment.

BEN HICKS, ND, DMSc, PA-C
Holistic Psychiatry

Dr. Ben Hicks obtained his Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2019. He has worked in psychiatry since 2020 in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. He completed a Master Psychopharmacology program in 2020 and then obtained his Doctor of Medical Sciences in Psychiatry and Infusion Pharmacology in 2023. With a background in natural medicine (Ben also holds a Doctor of Naturopathy), he practices holistic psychiatry. In 2024 he became a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP). He is also MAT trained and has completed training with the Ketamine Academy. In addition to patient care, Dr. Hicks works in academia authoring and instructing in various courses for the Professional Development Academy. He serves as adjunct faculty for Idaho State University Physician Assistant program and the Nurse Practitioner program as well as adjunct faculty for the Franklin Pierce University Physician Assistant program. He has authored several books, including the Hicks Quick Psych Reference.

Note: Although pictured above with a pipe, Dr. Hicks does not smoke. Upon completion of his psychiatric training he was presented with this pipe as these are widely considered almost as necessary as a medical license in order to practice psychiatry. He highly discourages smoking as it has negative physical and mental consequences.

MELISSA KATABATHINI, MA
Medical Assistant

Melissa holds a TC in the Culinary Arts, an AA in Fashion Design, a Masters in Liberal Arts and is a licensed cosmotologist. She comes to healthcare with training as a pharmacy technician, phlebotomist and is a Certified Medical Assistant.

MAGGIE BECERRA, Prof.D.
CCMA, Coding & Billing

Maggie is a graduate of Rick's College (Rexburg, ID) with an A.A.S. and Brigham Young University (Provo, UT) with a B.A. in Teaching. She is certified to teach English, History, Spanish and Social Studies and taught for several years before entering the health care field. Since that time she has obtained her Prof.D. in Professional Office Practices from California University FCE. She is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant through the National Healthcareer Association and has been working in billing and coding since 2017.

VANESSA MILLER, BS
Receptionist

Vanny is a graduate of Computer Systems Design and Programming from AMA Computer University (Manila, Philippines). She furthered her education and training and has obtained her Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Information Technology and Medical Assistant Studies. She has spent over a decade in Customer Service in business hospitality and business office processing. Vanny is fluent in English, Tagalog and Hiligaynon.
